Monashee Arts Council News

Monashee arts Council

Our Annual General Meeting will be happening in the next couple of months (date/time TBA).  If you are an arts & culture enthusiast why not consider becoming a board member of the Monashee Arts Council?  The more the merrier! We’d love to have you on board… give Jennifer a shout in the office at for more information.

We’ve been working in conjunction with the Okanagan Regional Library (Lumby branch) for the past few years on a local art initiative.  Meet the Artist is hosted monthly at the library and features MAC members’ artwork in their display area.  There is a meet-and-greet event near the end of the show at the library where the public has the opportunity to meet the featured artist and ask questions or watch a demonstration.  If you are interested in being one of the artists involved, please give us a shout!

Membership has its privileges!  Did you know that MAC recently negotiated an agreement with The Village Gallery to display our members’ artwork?  This new venture just launched this month with the Monashee Quilters Group & Bruce Borrowman, photographer, as our first members to be featured.

Our office is located within The Village Gallery at 1975 Vernon Street in downtown Lumby.  For the months of September and October, local photographer Connie Ellis is showing her collection of western themed art in her show entitled “Back to the Future.” Make sure you stop by to see these incredible images in person!
