The Trail & District Arts Council is thrilled to present another great season of Kootenay Savings Music in the Park. The shows start this Thursday with a local triple bill of Trail Maple Leaf Band, Trail Pipe Band and Scotties School of Highland Dance.
Last year’s popular Night Markets return on July 18 from 5-9 pm and August 8 from 5-8.30 pm! The market is hosted by Trail’s incrEDIBLE Farmers Market and will feature beer, wine and cider at our Adult Only Beverage Garden! And, you will be able to enjoy artisanal food from the best food trucks and vendors in the area including fabulous local artists, designers and craft-makers.
“Trail & District Arts Council is super excited about partnering again with incrEDIBLE Trail and we can’t wait to feel the buzz again at this fabulous summer event,” said Executive Director, Nadine Tremblay. “The combination of food trucks, vendors, live music, beer garden and the beautiful setting of Gyro Park is exciting. There will be something for everybody and we hope that Greater Trail comes out to take in some music, dance and celebrate summer together outdoors.”
The first Night Market on July 18, sponsored by Teck Metals Ltd., will feature the acoustic soul, funk & pop stylings of Toronto’s Lester McLean Band from 7-8.30 pm, with local favourite Tony Ferraro on drums. Come early so you don’t miss the market and opening act Brad Lee Whiplash & The Werewolves of Thunder starting at 6.15 pm!
Then, on August 8, Locarno Band, featuring Tonye Aganabe hit the Gyro Park stage from 5-8.30 pm with their groove heavy mix of Mexican folk, Cuban Son and Latin soul at the Night Market.
The rest of the line-up is just as amazing, offering a range of styles, including the Ron Halliday Band, Diamond Willow, Plan B, Fiddle Camp Jam, Willy Blizzard, Devils You Don’t, Holly Hyatt Band, Blue Crush, and Hairlöss.
With entrance by donation ($2 minimum suggested), it’s the perfect opportunity to bring a lawn chair or a blanket, get outside and listen to some live music in the beautiful setting of Gyro Park every Thursday starting at 7 pm.
