Kootenay Savings Music in the Park

Music in the Park happens every Thursday (and a Tuesday) until August 30. With entrance by donation, it’s the perfect opportunity for you to get outside and listen to some live music. We are thrilled to be bringing in artists from Jazz, to Bluegrass, to Funk, to Rock and Roll – Music in The Park will surely have something for everybody!
Bring a lawn chair. Admission is by donation – $2 minimum suggested.
Look out for our next Night Market on August 16 where we’ll be adding Food Trucks, a Market and an Adult Only Beverage Garden!Go to our Facebook event for updates!

Trail & District Arts Council presents Jazz at the Griff

RON HALLIDAY  – Thursday, Oct. 18, 7:30pm              
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Ron Halliday and his tight band take jazz, blues, popular and original tunes to unexpected and delightful places.KOOTENAY JAZZ ENSEMBLE – Thursday, Nov. 22, 7:30pm             
The Kootenay Jazz Ensemble performs creative arrangements of classic and original jazz.  The group features Donnie Clark on trumpet, Clinton Swanson on saxophones, Doug Stephenson on guitar, and Rob Fahie on acoustic bass.  Blending melody, improv, harmony, and textures these four veteran jazz musicians deliver a lush sound that explores the delights of Jazz.

JOY OF COOKING  – Thursday, Jan. 10, 7:30pm         
Led by guitarist Doug Stephenson, Joy of Cooking is the very definition of cool, easy-listening jazz in the kitchen cooking up a musical feast. Rick Lingard sax/voice, Tim Bullen trumpet, Mark, Spielman bass, Steven Parish drums, Doug Stephenson guitar.

MELODY DIACHUN QUINTET – Thursday, Feb. 14, 7:30pm                
Join award-winning Canadian vocalist-songwriter Melody Diachun and her band on Valentine’s Day with her popular “We Take Requests” concert. Melody has been hailed as a “jazz singer of the first order.” Whether performing standards, originals, or pop songs, her warm, beautiful voice and polished stage presence delight audiences of all ages and tastes.

LAURA LANDSBERG – Thursday, March 14, 7:30 pm            
Laura Landsberg’s versatile voice and musical curiosity deliver songs in a way that’s all her own. Singing classics made new with a simple twist, her range of expression and emotion astound as she interprets a range of material in a jazz style.

THE DEVILS YOU DON’T – Thursday, April 11, 7:30 pm              
A high energy five-piece, The Devils you Don’t crosses boundaries using its eclectic instrumental savvy to deliver a unique sound, performing original songs and covers from Swing to Bluegrass, Old Country to Rock and Roll. The band features Brian Kalbfleisch on vocals/ukulele, Craig Korth on banjo/dobro/vocals, Clinton Swanson on woodwinds/vocals, Rob Fahie on acoustic bass/vocals, and Graham Tracey on drums/vocals.
