Incredible exhibitions, programs and events abound at Touchstones Nelson Museum! Fill your summer months with art and history – from the ArtLab, to Art Deco tours, to our first Bunker Session, and even a night at the Museum for your toys!
The ArtLab is now open!
We invite you to explore this new hands on art station for children, and the young
The ArtLab has been inspired by Fiona Mooney, a phenomenal community member who was instrumental in bringing Touchstones to life and giving it its name. Fiona inspired all those around her by encouraging creative exploration, love and deep contemplation.
We thank the Mooney family and friends for their generous support for the creation of the Touchstones ArtLab.

Architecture of Nelson Walking Tour
July 22 & August 19, 10am
Join local author Peter Bartl as he leads an Art Deco/Mission Revival architecture walking tour of beautiful downtown Nelson. Explore the community in a whole new way as Peter encourages all to notice heritage in buildings from the 1920s to the 1960’s.
He will explore the hidden features of many buildings we see every day and just don’t always have time to fully appreciate! Peter’s book The Modernist Heritage of Nelson Architecture is an invaluable source of inspiration and information, and he will bring his wealth of knowledge to this walking tour that will appeal to locals and visitors alike.
Pre-register and pre-pay for this amazing opportunity to explore the city, as space is limited for this 2 hour tour. The cost is $10, and $5 for Touchstones Members. Tours will take place Sunday, July 22 and Sunday, August 19, both at 10 a.m.
A Night at the Museum…for Toys
