The Gallery hosted the openings of two exhibitions on June 15 with a good turnout for the events. Clockwise from top left. The evening began with a drum song by the multi-talented Csetkwe Fortier who sang a travelling song. Artist Carol Reynolds gives a brief talk as Curator Maggie Shirley looks on. Artists Sheldon Louis and Csetkwe Fortier stand between their paintings. Sheldon and Csetkwe discuss their paintings with Carol. Carol Reynolds embraces her son Rob at the opening.

Youth Workshop at KCLC

Thank you to the West Kootenay Regional Arts Council for providing funding to help pay for a workshop with students and staff of the Kootenay Columbia Learning Centre. Sheldon Louis and Csetkwe Fortier, both very skilled at working with youth led an art-making workshop about salmon in the Columbia River and what it meant and means for local indigenous cultures.
