at The Bailey Theatre
Performing Arts Trail are excited to bring you phenomenal world-class performances for the 2018-2019 Performance Series. members may renew their existing season passes and ensure their favorite seats until May 20.
Oct. 23rd, 7:30 PM – A Glezele Vayn Trio & Klezmeridian Ensemble
A Glezele Vayn, the Kootenay based chamber music trio featuring Martine denBok, Nicola Everton and Sue Gould, highlight the rich repertoire for violin/viola, clarinet and piano.
In the second half of the program enjoy Klezmer folk style music, from the Klezmeridian Ensemble with clarinet, violin, percussion, guitar, accordion and bass for a lively finale.
Nov. 13th, 7:30 pm – Martin O: Dancing Voice
The vocal virtuoso, beat-boxer and musical storyteller, Martin O., takes his audience on a wild ride with a constant stream of surprises, humor, emotion, and fantasy, centered around his incredible shape-shifting one-of-a-kind voice.
December 4th, 7:30 pm – Sultans of String
Celebrate the season with an adventurous musical trip around the world! Three time JUNO Award nominees Sultans of String deliver an exuberant performance featuring band originals, world-music inspired classics, and seasonal favourites to warm your heart on a cold winter’s night.
Feb. 5th, 7:30 pm – Paige Culley
A dance artist based in Montréal, from 2011-2016 Culley performed extensively with Compagnie Marie Chouinard. Her work as an interprète spans collaboration with artists including Daina Ashbee, Danièle Desnoyers, Dana Gingras, Lucy May, Tedd Robinson, Marten Spangberg and Doris Uhlich.
Feb. 26th, 7:30 pm – Motus O Dance: Prisoners of Tehran
A unique collaboration between Marina Nemat and MOTUS O Dance Theatre, the show is a multi-disciplinary performance based on her bestselling book, “Prisoner of Tehran,” that deals with social justice on the theme of oppression and freedom. The presentation will be followed by a Q & A with the artists and dancers.
March (Day TBC), 7:30 pm – Lizzy Hoyt: New Lady on the Prairie
Entwining traditional and contemporary elements, Lizzy Hoyt delivers a diverse evening of music with soaring melodies rooted in Celtic and folk traditions. Based on repertoire from her acclaimed album, “New Lady on the Prairie”, this show is a collection of songs about Canadian history, immigration, women, war, love and family.
April 2nd, 7:30 pm – Ô-Celli
Eight cellists from Belgium join together for a original and dynamic classical music concert. Ô-Celli is a cosmopolitan ensemble, which is represented by five different nationalities, members of prominent European orchestras such as the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, National Opera of Paris, and the Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Public season pass and individual tickets on sale May 21 from 10 am.
