The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture (RCAC) is thrilled to present “Swingin’ with Oscar” by the talented Rémi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble. Joining Rémi Bolduc are Taurey Bulter on piano, Fraser Hollins on bass and David Laing on drums.

Rémi Bolduc’s eclectic yet eloquent playing style has placed him at the forefront of modern saxophone mastery. He has recorded eight full-length albums since his debut in 1996, while performing alongside many of the world’s greatest jazz musicians.

Bolduc is an award winning composer and recipient of the coveted Opus Award for Concert of the Year.  He has made his mark in the Canadian jazz scene, and with this show he pays tribute to fellow Canadian jazz trailblazer and national treasure, Oscar Peterson.

Oscar Peterson is recognized as one of the most important pianist in the entire history of jazz. The Montreal-born pianist and composer played alongside global legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong.

A few of Peterson’s music accomplishments include his 8 Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997, the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1992 and a Companion of the Order of Canada.

“We are delighted to present Remi Bolduc,” said Theshini Naicker, President of the RCAC. “This is sure to be a dynamic and engaging performance, showcasing the work of one of the greatest Canadian talents in the history of jazz. We expect this show to sell out, so get your tickets early!”

Doors open at 7:30 and the show begins at 8:00.

Tickets are $25 at “Out of the Cellar” in Rossland. They are also available online at rosslandartscouncil.com, under Upcoming Events.
