Congratulations to BC Music Fund Recipients 

Creative BC congratulates the grant recipients who have been awarded funds through the BC Music Fund.

Sound Recording: 285+ Sound Recording projects were funded for a total of $3.5 million, supporting BC artists at various stages of their careers.

Live Music: 72 projects supporting Live Music events, festivals and venues from across BC were funded for a total of $2.5 million, increasing performance opportunities for BC artists and audiences, and investing in business capacity and infrastructure upgrades.

Careers of BC Artists: The Careers of BC Artists program funded over 107 artist marketing projects across BC, helping musicians of every genre build audiences across the globe with $1.5 million in support.

Industry Initiatives: The Industry Initiatives program has supported 16 projects to date, building the capacity of BC’s music industry through training opportunities, panels & workshops, artist development programs, showcases, conferences, B2B meetings, and new online platforms.

Research: The Research program has invested in 2 research studies to collect sector data for the long term sustainability of BC’s music industry.

Music Company, Innovation and Signature Artist program applications are currently in review. Funding is still available through the Industry Initiatives and Research programs.

Two Music Industry Studies to Take Place in BC

As part of our commitment to develop, protect and safeguard a viable and healthy music industry and ecosystem throughout the province, Music BC together with Music Canada Live, Creative BC and The Province of BC, FACTOR, and the City of Vancouver will be conducting two industry studies this fall and winter. As members of the third largest music market in Canada, we ask for your engagement in this process to ensure that the relevant data collected to reach our common goal: a sustainable music industry.
